About Trip

Magdalena Bay, on the Pacific coast of Mexico, is one of the few places on Earth where you can witness the high-speed, coordinated hunting of Striped Marlin in open water. During the fall season, massive bait balls attract marlin, sea lions, and seabirds in a breathtaking display of predation and precision.

This rich marine ecosystem is teeming with life—encounters with sea lions, dolphins, whales, and other pelagic species are common, making every day on the water a thrilling and unpredictable adventure.

Itinerary

Arrival Day

Going to Magdalena Island

We recommend to fly to La Paz airport (LAP) or San Jose del Cabo airport (SJD). We’ll depart at noon from La Paz for our transfer to Puerto San Carlos - a scenic drive of approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival, we’ll board a boat for the 30–40 minute ride to Magdalena Island, where we’ll be staying.

Please bring appropriate clothing for the boat ride, including layers and protection from wind, sun and sea spray.

Once we arrive on the island, we’ll settle in, enjoy dinner, and have a briefing to prepare for the incredible days ahead.

Note: This will be the first date of your selected trip

Ocean Swim Days

Offshore Safari

Start the day with an early breakfast before heading out for a full day on the water.

We’ll spend the day aboard our boat, searching for pelagic species such as Striped Marlin, sea lions, and more. Expect breathtaking encounters and plenty of time in the water.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to camp to relax and unwind.

Dinner will be served at the Palapa as we recap the day’s adventures.

Departure Day

Return to La Paz

We’ll depart between 7:00–8:00 AM for the return journey from Magdalena Bay to La Paz. The drive takes approximately 4 hours.

If you're flying out of San José del Cabo (SJD), we recommend booking flights after 4:00 PM, or staying an extra night and flying out the next day to allow for a more relaxed travel experience.

End of the trip – Thank you for joining us on this incredible adventure!
